Welcome! If you didn’t already know, you’ve stumbled into the most complete and comprehensive collection of Martyn Joseph lyrics on the internet. More information about Martyn below, but let’s talk technicalities first. There are a number of ways to use this site.

If you’re searching for a specific song (or lyric), the search box on the widgets bar to your right is probably your best bet. Failing that, you could browse using one of the main pages below:

Album Index

Song Index

Both pages contain comprehensive lists that are (mostly) linked to individual pages containing full lyrics and other information.

About Songs For The Coming Home

This WordPress site is an online archive intended to showcase the lyrics of Martyn Joseph.

Martyn is a prominent British singer-songwriter, with a prolific and eclectic musical career spanning some three decades. He’s produced some nineteen studio albums, a number of live albums and has collaborated with any number of other musicians, most notably Steve Knightley and Tom Robinson in the 2004 venture Faith, Folk and Anarchy.

All manner of information about Martyn may be found on his Wikipedia page and official website. The purpose of Songs For The Coming Home is to gather together all the lyrics to his work in one place, along with relevant track information and any appropriate miscellany. I’ve embedded YouTube links where they exist, and will eventually be adding trivia and Martyn’s own thoughts for at least some of the material. As of October 2015 the site is comparatively up to date, with just a few stragglers that are being added as and when I get the chance.

Songs For The Coming Home is encyclopaedic in nature and whilst every effort has been made to ensure accurate information, it’s likely that there will be errors here and there. Please direct any queries or corrections directly to me, preferably by email or in the comments fields where appropriate. Videos should all be functional but YouTube changes so frequently it’s impossible to really keep track – please do let me know if you discover any embedded links that are no longer functioning.

I’ve avoided posting my own personal opinions about the songs, but I welcome yours.

Happy listening!

While the compilation and administration of Songs For The Coming Home has largely been a solo job, I couldn’t have managed it without the help of various individuals who’ve provided missing / obscure lyrics, corrected the ones I’d misspelled or misheard and pointed me towards interesting videos. They’ve been brilliant, and I thank them profusely. Any mistakes you see are mine!

Yes, he is Welsh, but British is perfectly acceptable.
